Newfactan (Pulmonary Surfactant)

Newfactan is a pulmonary surfactant used in the management of respiratory distress syndrome also known as Hyaline Membrane Disease in Neonates and Preterm Neonates. It is a Bovine Surfactant and it comes as 120mg powder for injection. It is given Intratracheal in 4-5 aliquots.

Dose is calculated based on weight of the neonate. It should be stored between 2-8°C
